West facing slope, densly shaded by Pinus strobus in the morning.
Tree, ca. 8" dbh, 15' tall, 12' spread. Bark smooth, green with white stripes. Young bark smooth, reddish. Flowers light green, pendulous. Bud scales bright red. Leaf scales pinkish. Leaves with yellow pubescence in veines, more pubescent below.
