Low oval crown tree ca 6 m tall. Bark generally smooth, very dark brown. flowers pink, 3-5 to 4 cm with oval overlapping petals. Brought from forest areas from either Mt. Dairoku (ca 1459 M) or Mt. Ashibetsu (ca 1726 m) for research studies.
