Upright tree ca 9 m tall. Bark generally smooth with conspicuous lenticels on younger branches. flowers pale pink with large oval petals. Brought from forest areas from either Mt. Dairoku (ca 1459 m) or Mt. Ashibetsu (ca 1726 m) for research studies ca 224 m. alt.
