United States, California, Los Angeles County, Manhattan Beach; Collected from a landscape planting in Mahattan Beach, Los Angeles County, California.
Growing as a shrub ca 12 feet high and 15 feet across. Flowers cream-white, fragrant. Leaves thin, yellowish-green with reddish midrib. Fruit globose, tannish-orange.

Label heading is "Exotic Flora of Southern California". Note: Stamens rudimentary, filaments absent; fruit dehiscence, often 3-valved. See also Noble 239, earlier collection.
