United States, California, Los Angeles County, Collected from the Lily Pond area, Southeast corner of Huntingto Botanical Garden, San Marino, Los Angeles County, California.
Growing as a dense tree, ca 11 m high and 8 m across. Several strongly-ascending trunks, headed from ca 2 m, broad ovate to oblong. Most branches strongly-spreading, old bark tan-gray, smooth. Leaves dark green, glossy, undulate. In heavy fruit and quite colorful; fruit orange, aging brown. Pulp and seed mass reddish-orange, finally brown.
