Edge, disturbed opening (power line cut): mountaintop mixed Oak-Chestnut woodland (forest margin at high elevation); slope: 20° S.
Shrub/tree; height 12 ft; DBH 3.9 cm; leaves ovate - oblong, cuneate or rounded at the base acute at apex, margins serrate; surfaces light green, 3 to 9 cm long, 2 to 5 cm broad; flowers not present; drupes bright red, spherical, 8 to 10 mm in diameter.
